Its almost 7:30 am. As I prepare for some writing today, I realize that I have no idea what I am doing on this blog. I am nowhere near a tech-savvy person; in fact, technology often feels like a daunting wall that I must continuously climb. I like simplicity in every aspect of life, and when you try to navigate this site, please know that we are both laughing together at this whole mess! It’s a journey filled with ups and downs, and I ask for your grace as I navigate this learning curve. My brain is literally focused on the story I have to share and not on how this looks and all kinds of pictures. Shew! My brain hurts trying to navigate this blog (insert crazy face emoji here). I just grabbed my first cup of coffee of the morning, those few sips of warmth sparking creativity, and decided to pick up where I left off. But I realize that there is something essential missing. I never really introduced myself properly. I gave you a quick upload of my childhood, a snapshot of who I was back then, but nothing about who I am now and where I’m at today. Most of my journey will unfold through my story, but to give you just a little deeper insight, my story is primarily about Faith and about how I arrived at this very moment, typing words I never imagined I could type. I wrote something one day, pouring my heart onto the page, and my mom said, “wow, how did you learn to write like that!” I honestly had no idea I had any writing skills, but mostly, I just have an abundance of thoughts and emotions to express, accompanied by a fierce desire to connect with others through my words. It’s fascinating how writing can open up a world of possibilities, and I’m excited to explore that world with you.
I start by saying Hello and thank you for visiting my story. Some people will be interested and maybe most people will skip it, and that’s perfectly fine. I’m truly ok with reaching just one reader, as I believe every heart can resonate with a genuine story. I don’t need an audience to prove my faith, but I have a BIG testimony to share that has shaped my experiences and beliefs. My hope is that by reaching just one person, my mission will be accomplished. We often overlook the power that our individual narratives can hold—testimonies are everywhere in the world, woven into the fabric of our lives. We all have a story to tell, filled with life lessons, struggles, and triumphs; mine is not any more special or any more dramatic than yours. Each story deserves to be heard, as it builds connections and understanding among us all, creating a tapestry of shared human experiences that can inspire and uplift. This is my story of how my Faith unfolds, curiosity of God begins, how I surrendered at His feet, and how God prepared me for the worst three years of my life. No, I didn’t get sick or get diagnosed with a terminal illness. One day I woke up with a perfect life, surrounded by laughter and love, and by the end of that day, my whole life got turned upside down. It felt surreal, as if I were in a movie where everything that was once stable crumbled in an instant, revealing the fragility of our existence. I don’t want to spoil the story too early, but I will give you just a little hint; the past three years have seemed like my girls and I have been living an ongoing lifetime movie, with all its twists and turns and unexpected moments. I have not revealed my name and where I live only because as of today (7/19/26) we are still waiting on an ending. An ending that we can only hope for so that our healing journeys can take a more permanent direction moving forward. As our story is ongoing, I will leave out names and our location. Some days, I will banter about my morning thoughts, sharing the little insights that come to me as I sip my coffee and reflect, and some days I will continue with my story, unraveling the layers of my experiences. I have been journaling for years, pouring out my thoughts and feelings onto the pages, and decided that this story needed to be told. God and I have been talking about it for the past year, often in quiet moments when I feel a stirring in my spirit, and I keep getting this urge to write a book. I’m not sure that will happen, but this is a good start—a platform where my words can take flight and connect with others. So here goes nothing; I invite you to join me on this journey, as I unravel my bitterness into a beautiful life with an unwavering faith. God has shown me the way lighting the path every step I take. All the ups and downs and the trials of my most darkest days. I am putting it all out for the world to see.
Who am I ….
I am a mom of 3 beautiful girls, each with their own unique personality and charm. I am taking life one day at a time, fueling my soul with Jesus and fueling my exhaustion with caffeine. It’s a delicate balance, but it keeps me grounded. We are living in a small town just 20 minutes from where I grew up. My girls have gone to the same school since kindergarten, and it fills me with joy to think of all the milestones they’ve achieved together there. Gosh, I love our school and couldn’t imagine being a part of anything else; the community feels like an extended family. Of course, we have encountered our differences with teachers along the way and a few policies that don’t make sense, but that’s ok. Our school is fantastic, and I truly believe it always has the best interest at heart for our students, ensuring they receive a well-rounded education. I have 2 adult children, one that just graduated college and one about to enter college this Fall, both of whom have worked diligently to reach their goals and make us proud. My last but not least is the only one in high school. My girls are best friends, all 2 years apart, forming a supportive trio that I cherish watching grow. They don’t fight over clothes or make-up; instead, they are actually respectful with each other aside from the occasional squabble here and there. It’s heartwarming to see how they literally can’t go 1 hour without each other, sharing secrets and laughter, as if their bond is an invisible thread. They have their own language and inside jokes, I sometimes wonder how they will each move out on their own one day, and this has always been my hope when we had them so close together. The idea of them having each other’s backs is incredibly fulfilling for me as a mother. I am truly blessed for their friendships with each other. They have a strong bond that is, without a doubt, unbreakable. These last few years have proven to me that they will always support each other through thick and thin, regardless of where life takes them, and I am grateful for the lasting memories that are being created along the way.
Each of my girls are different but yet the same, creating a beautiful tapestry of personalities that enrich our lives. My oldest is bold and very mature for her age, displaying a remarkable wisdom that often surprises me. I am so proud of how she has beautifully grown into a responsible adult who takes all of my advice to heart; it’s a joy to see how she actively incorporates what I teach her into her daily life. She truly listens to the guidance I still give her today, often reflecting on it in thoughtful ways. She is not just a protector; she stands up for what is right and wrong, advocating fiercely for justice and fairness in her relationships and beyond. If you lie to her, she’ll let you know how she feels, sparing no words in her honesty, which is a testament to her integrity. My middle daughter is starting her journey in becoming a teacher, a path she is clearly passionate about. She is filled with unmeasured patience, understanding the nuances of education and the importance of nurturing young minds. Her very bubbly personality radiates positivity, always smiling and happy, and it’s contagious to those around her. She organizes her life into perfection, with a keen eye for detail, and never misses a beat, which is truly inspiring. She is the type of person that will walk away if she is misled; silence is her game, and once she reaches that point, she knows she deserves better. My youngest daughter, oh boy! She is without a doubt the most fierce, a force to be reckoned with and the boldest out of the three of them, exhibiting a confidence that is both admirable and intimidating. As she is the last to navigate the teenage years, she brings a unique perspective, learning things by watching and observing her sisters, and has emerged as a good-hearted person without a naive bone in her body. She stands up for herself with unwavering conviction and isn’t afraid to call you out on your bull crap when necessary. But once you get to know her, you discover that she is full of good sass and humor, keeping you laughing for hours with her witty remarks and charming antics, making it impossible not to adore her.
My goal with these three amazing humans is the same as every parent’s goal: to help them grow into respectful and responsible adults with the capabilities of taking care of themselves and never to expect life to just hand them everything they want. I have three girls to mold and shape into good humans, and I want them to be fierce and unyielding in the face of challenges. I want them to be able to handle hardships with resilience, developing a strong sense of self that allows them to navigate through life’s unpredictable twists and turns. It’s crucial for them to learn to stand firm in their beliefs while also being open to new ideas, enabling them to evolve with the world around them. I encourage them to embrace their individuality, make their own choices, and stand up for what they believe in, knowing this will strengthen their character. So far, whatever I’m doing is working. They are not perfect, and I often remind them that we are not made to be perfect. It’s not the mistakes that define us but how we get back up and try again. Each misstep is an opportunity for growth, a lesson that helps them understand the value of perseverance and determination. I feel proud of their progress and look forward to guiding them as they continue to blossom into the extraordinary women they’re destined to become.
Now for myself, I am a simple gal. I don’t want to be rich in money but in love. The older I get, I crave peace and quiet and just sit back and watch my girls unfold their lives, waiting for the need of guidance. I like my morning coffee listening to the birds (as long as they are from a distance), which gives me a sense of tranquility to start my day. I still have hopes to sell our home one day and move into a quieter location where I can just be still with myself and God, perhaps surrounded by nature, where the whispering trees and gentle breeze would create a perfect sanctuary. I have a lot on my plate and wear many hats as a single parent, managing everything from school pick-ups to running my own business, ensuring that I provide both love and support for my girls. So for now, I will go at my own pace, allowing God to reveal His plan one day at a time, trusting that each small step leads to a brighter future. I keep to myself mostly, working on home projects that need my attention, finding solace in the routine of creating a warm and inviting space for us. I am getting ready to replace the flooring in our home because it is without a doubt a necessary change that needs to be made to refresh our living environment. When I got divorced, our home didn’t feel the same; it felt like a shell of what it once was, and the girls and I needed a different scenery to find comfort again. It’s amazing what a little paint color can do for a home, how it can breathe new life into the space. I am currently changing up the style of my decor and entering a little bit of a meemaw era, incorporating pieces that tell a story and evoke memories, blending the old with the new. Things that are old and repurposed but yet simple and peaceful resonate with my desire for a nurturing space. I recently painted my dining room with a nice quiet green, a shade that calms the mind and brings back an old country feel, reminiscent of family gatherings and laughter shared around the table that my grandfather had built many years before his passing. I have been wanting to reconnect with the house and feel cozy again. It’s been three years now, and it’s time for the girls and I to start feeling at home again, establishing new routines and traditions that will shape our lives together in this space, one that we can fill with joy, love, and warmth.
