Lets take just a small break and reflect on Gods love. Some people don’t understand how much God loves us. To some, its hard to fathom the thought of the Holy Spirit himself. This is my interpretation of Gods love…
God teaches us how to be loved and how to love, illuminating the profound essence of these connections in our lives. God’s words are all about love and goodness, serving as a guide for us to navigate through the complexities of our emotions and relationships. Love should never feel shameful or like a burden; instead, it should be a source of strength and inspiration. True love, as envisioned by God, should lift you up and not bring you down, fostering an environment where both individuals can thrive and support each other. It is through this unconditional love that we grow, learning to forgive, nurture, and cherish one another through every circumstance. Embracing love enriches our souls and helps us reflect the divine goodness that we are all called to share.
Ephesians 5:23-30 – to lead
Ephesians 5:28-Love me like his own body
Colossians 3:19- to cherish
1 Corinthians 13: 4-7- love is patient love is kind
Proverbs 18:22- to be gentle
1 Peter 3 – fully loved
There is no other way than God’s way. To be loved is to be cherished with gentleness, and kindness, creating a safe space where both partners can thrive. It involves not only affection but also understanding and respect for each other’s feelings and perspectives. You should be able to talk and say anything that concerns you or anything that brings you fear without feeling ashamed, knowing that your words will be met with empathy rather than judgment. We are all human and have been given all of these feelings to feel by our creator, who is God. It is essential to recognize that love is not just about grand gestures; it is also found in the small, everyday acts that show care and commitment. Validate each other with compassion and love, prioritizing open communication and honesty in your relationship. If you receive less than these things, is it really love ? True love helps us grow and flourish, illuminating our lives with warmth and joy.
If your partner can’t bring up something without you getting angry or defensive, you’re teaching that person that you claim to love that silence is safer than honesty. This creates an environment where open communication becomes stifled, leading to unexpressed feelings and unresolved issues. Once that crucial line of communication has a barrier, your spouse will start to shut down and pull away emotionally, fearing judgment or retaliation. This withdrawal is not just a temporary reaction; it can become a pervasive pattern that destroys the foundation of your relationship. Over time, those moments of avoidance will accumulate, and you may find that conversations become shallow, with both partners dancing around the real issues, too afraid to confront them directly. And that’s how you slip away from each other, choosing silence over conflict, which only serves to widen the emotional turmoil between you. The moment you feel unheard and shamed for having feelings towards something, that’s not love; it’s a signal that the relationship needs healing, understanding, and a renewed commitment to honesty and vulnerability, which are essential for fostering true intimacy.
Relationships are not easy, and I don’t think they’re meant to be easy. Two people made by God are unique individuals, each with their own strengths, weaknesses, and perspectives. However, the choices we make in how we engage with one another and what we choose to follow can create the true foundation of our partnerships. We cannot follow both God and the devil at the same time; it’s a spiritual impossibility that brings chaos rather than harmony. Those who do not lead you to Christ and encourage your walk in faith are often the ones who will likely make you stumble and settle for less than what is promised through Him. Although my ex husband initially encouraged my spiritual journey with God in our marriage, I later realized he was hidden behind the sheep’s clothing, his true intentions obscured by a facade of piety. He wielded scripture and faith like weapons against me, thinking it would render me and make me weak, but what he failed to understand is that God holds all the power to reveal the truth and expose the one masquerading as a follower of Christ. This is, without a doubt, a crucial lesson that the enemy does not relay to his unwitting puppets, for the truth is a light that shatters the darkness and illuminates the hidden dangers lurking within seemingly benign relationships. Matthew 7:15 NLT ” Be aware of false prophets who come disguised as harmless sheep but are really vicious wolves.”
To have this kind of faith is to have that unbreakable bond and trust in God, a profound connection that transcends our earthly understanding. It is the assurance that, even in the face of challenges and uncertainties, we can sit back and allow God to do His work and reveal the truth in His perfect timing. This kind of faith fosters an unwavering gut-level trust, a deep-seated belief that all things are orchestrated for our good, even when the path seems unclear. It encourages us to surrender our worries and anxieties, embracing a sense of peace, knowing that we are guided by a higher power whose plans are always greater than our own. In this surrender, we find strength and comfort, realizing that our faith is a steadfast commitment to a loving and trust in God. I had to do just this, as my testimony of the truest trust in God. Without his power and faithfulness I wouldn’t be here today. I would be in jail. God’s plan played out exactly the way it was supposed to, each step, each phase and each confession unfolds the truth about the man I was committed to for 19 years.
As I face many challenges today I know for a fact that I have God on my side. He revealed the wolf disguised in sheep clothing. He gave me discernment and also taught me how to understand that discernment by not leaning on my own understanding. I trust God more than myself and more than others. The hardest part is sitting back and waiting for God’s plan to let loose. Surrendering your worries, praying every day and keeping your connection with Him strong in His word and close to your heart. Its okay that you don’t have scripture memorized, It’s okay that you can’t quote the bible word for word. Its not a game on who wins the vocabulary test. Its about what’s in your heart and believing to walk by faith and not by sight ; 2 Corinthians 5:7.
I know God’s love and how much He loves me, but I still struggle with how to be loved by another human other than my children. Recently, I surrendered my fears of being lied to, infidelity, manipulation, and being misled. I recognize that this is where I need to trust God more profoundly. He has revealed His plans to me once before, and I believe He will do it again. In this journey, I have recently taken a small but significant step into my true resilience, realizing that challenges are not there to break me but to build my character. God has beautifully shown me once again His grace and mercy—an unearned gift that I often feel I do not deserve most days. Through His grace, I have the highest level of protection, guarding me against the trials of life, and through His mercy, I have escaped the enemy’s grasp once again today. I am learning to embrace these moments of divine intervention, reflecting on how God’s presence in my life empowers me to open my heart to love others, fostering connections that transcend my fears while allowing His love to flow through me, enriching both my life and the lives of those around me.
So today take a look at who you are… are you loving like God is teaching you? Are you accepting love? If you’re questioning yourself, dive deeper into the love that God teaches us. Dust off your Bible and begin reading the New Testament, and don’t stop until the end of Revelation. Read it as if God left you a love letter, cherishing every verse and understanding the profound messages within, not just reading the words on paper. Allow yourself to be immersed in the narratives and teachings that offer guidance and strength for your journey. I just recently had to revisit this myself, as we all face moments when we stray from the path of love and understanding. It’s okay; we all make mistakes, but it’s now time to let God fix it for you. Embrace the opportunity to re-align your heart and spirit with His teachings, recognizing that each moment spent in His word can transform your understanding and empower your ability to love others authentically. As you engage with scripture, invite the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with wisdom and compassion, helping you to embody the love that God has for you and for all creation.
