(NLT) “Be still and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.”
Be still and know that I am God. Those words remind my heart to stay calm and to just trust God in His preparations, inviting me to pause among the chaos. These word tell us to take a breath, to pray, and to sit quietly listening to His direction, we find comfort in the understanding that we are not alone in our struggles. Allowing yourself to surrender and take His lead opens the door to peace, granting us the strength to navigate our challenges with faith. In these moments of stillness, we can reflect on our worries, allowing them to dissipate as we cultivate a deeper connection with the divine. Embracing this quietness encourages us to rest in His presence, fostering a heart that is ready to receive His guidance and wisdom.
During the most difficult times of losing my girls to a man that was manipulating them and hurting their hearts, I felt an overwhelming sense of despair wash over me. At the time, they didn’t realize the extent of the manipulation; their innocence shielded them from the harsh realities that were unfolding. However, I knew once they figured it out, they were going to need me more than ever, and that thought kept me going. I found rest in God’s words, “Be still and know that I am God,” which became my refuge amidst the chaos. He was steadily building strength within me, preparing me to be their rock, their safe haven when reality hit them head-on. God did exactly that; He knew that His work in me had to be strong enough for my children to lean on during their darkest moments. The devastation of what their own father was doing struck them hard and fast, like a sudden storm that left them reeling. With each passing day, as I witnessed their struggle, my resolve grew stronger, and I vowed to be there for them, steadfast and unwavering, ready to guide them through the shadows of their pain towards the light of healing and renewal.
May of 2025 was a turning point in our divorce and custody battle. I surrendered this man to him, acknowledging the weight of my own my intuitions. I told God that there was so much more to his anger, as if it stemmed from a deep-seated darkness that I could not fully grasp. It felt as though he was harboring secrets, dark truths buried beneath layers of his hatred. I felt it in my soul that there were secrets far worse than the infidelity, hints of betrayal that extended beyond physical acts of infidelity.
This is the prayer when I asked God to reveal the true devil in his ways, to shine a light on the darkness that concealed his presence within this man’s soul. I fervently sought divine intervention, imploring God to shake this man to his core, expelling the deepest secrets that he had buried and unveiling his true relationship with the devil that seemed to lurk just beneath the surface. My heart was heavy as I pleaded to God, asking Him to protect my precious girls from the clutches of this monster, a man whose sinister influence could no longer be controlled or contained. It was about a week later when I received the worst phone call a mother could ever get, a harbinger of chaos and heartbreak that shattered my world. God answered that prayer in a way I never expected, a testament to His unwavering faithfulness and love. He moved mountains with that prayer, pulling back the veil of deception and revealing the man dressed in sheep’s clothing, who appeared harmless but was, in reality, a wolf intent on causing harm. This experience not only deepened my understanding of faith and the power of prayer but also solidified my resolve to defend and protect my family against any malevolent forces that may arise. After that phone call, I dropped to my knees with relief, overwhelmed by the weight that had been lifted off my shoulders. The profound realization that what I had been feeling was not just my imagination, but a genuine experience filled me with gratitude. In that moment, I thanked God for his goodness and his power, embracing the warmth of hope that flooded my heart. I felt a sense of clarity wash over me, as if all the confusion and doubt had been replaced by a comforting assurance that I was on the right path. The tears of joy streamed down my face as I reflected on the journey that had led me to this point, acknowledging the struggles that had shaped me and the support I had received along the way. It was a moment of surrender and validation that God hears my prayers. No one could have gotten this information out of him but God himself!
Being still and knowing that God will work is hard, especially in moments of uncertainty and despair. Surrendering to God all of your doubts and worries is hard; it requires trust and a deep-rooted faith that we often struggle to maintain. We find ourselves grappling with our human instincts to control and manipulate outcomes, rather than relinquishing our burdens. This challenging journey brings us back around to 2 Corinthians 5:7, which reminds us, “We walk by faith not by sight.” This scripture encourages us to embrace a perspective beyond our immediate circumstances, trusting that divine guidance will illuminate our path even when our eyes cannot see it.
Whatever you’re facing, whatever your circumstances are, be still and know that God is working it all out for good. His purpose is unfolding in ways beyond our understanding. God is so, so good; He is the truth and the way, guiding us through the valleys and elevating us toward the mountaintops of life. Each trial we encounter is an opportunity for growth, a chance to strengthen our faith and deepen our connection with Him. Embrace the peace that comes from knowing that you are not alone in your journey, and that God, in His infinite wisdom and love, is orchestrating every detail for your ultimate benefit. Pour your heart into those prayers, he wants to see your truest self, raw and without resolutions because he will bring revolution. Embrace the raw honesty of your emotions, for it is in these genuine moments that transformation begins. Allow your soul to speak freely, unfiltered, as you connect with the divine, unlocking the potential for change that lies within. When you pour forth your deepest fears, hopes, and dreams, you not only invite healing but also ignite sparks of revolution that can lead to profound shifts in your life and those around you.
Heavenly Father, I pray today that the one who reads this blog, you will lead their steps, heal wounds, and give them testimony to your faithfulness. Open their hearts and their eyes to see your blessings, no matter how small or hidden they may seem in the chaos of life. Quiet their minds and protect their thoughts from the enemy that is waiting for the opportunity to pull them into despair, causing doubt and fear to creep in unnoticed. Help them to recognize these distractions for what they are and to find strength in your presence. Build them up with wisdom to understand not just their own journey, but also the journeys of others around them, fostering compassion and love as they navigate through their experiences.
In Jesus name, Amen
